Man of the Philippines Naga City 2018

A 23 years old DJ and Singer, Mark Avila from Naga city, Bicol Region, had mesmerized the audience whenever he speaks and sing since his deep voice is indeed such a delight to listen to.

No wonder Mark had taken up Bachelor of Arts in Communication as his course, since he is passionate in broadcasting and performing arts and he is also a professional singer in Naga City but he had been introduced into dancing which he is getting himself involved into lately. He plays the guitar and write songs too during his spare time as well as he is into football and chess as his sports.

In pageantry, he had joined Mr. Youth Nagueño 2013 and Mr. Pintakasi(Ateneo de Naga) 2015 and won both titles. He also joined Ginoong Tabak and Lakan ng Pinangat 2018. He had joined pageants since it had became an avenue for him to showcase his talent and inspire people to really bring out the best in them. It was his family who encouraged supported Mark in joining all the pageants. He was discovered by the Bicol team, sir Joward and Cocoi after the 2 recent pageants he joined. Mark is thankful because he was able to join the Man of the Philippines was given a chance to prove that he am deserving to become the first ever Man of the Philippines. He is inspired to join because he is given the opportunity to voice out his advocacy and inspire people to utilize their talent and capabilities as gifted/talented individuals.

The advocacy of Mark is to raise mental health awareness in our country. In terms fo tourism promotion, Naga city is the City of Smiles and the land of Oragons. It is a place where everyone is optimistic in facing every challenges. He is proud to say that they have a lot of delicacies like Pinangat, Pili nut, loglog kinalas and a lot more. So far the best experience for him in Man of the Philippines 2018 is the opportunity to connect with other people coming from all over the Philippines with different culture. It is very interesting for him to know that even though they have different perspectives and culture they were able to have camaraderie. He wants to learn the culture of other people and be able to have a wider understanding on how to deal with other people in order for him to efficiently promote his advocacy.

To all the people who are supporting everyone and greatly believe in their purpose as Man of the Philippines, he is asking to continue the love and support and had promised to always be at their best and will make sure that they will always embody what the true Man of the Philippines should be.

Will a DJ and singer from Naga City be able to clinch the first ever Man of the Philippines title? With his charm and talent, Mark had a great chance to be the one.

Man of the Philippines Subic 2018

A BS Customs Administration student, Juan Miguel Gaudo Sahagun, is the representative of Subic, Zambales in the first edition of Man of the Philippines 2018.

Juan Miguel foresee himself to in the field of customs administration so he had taken the step to take up that course as je involves himself in Calisthenics Workout, Boxing, Basketball, Chess, Gym and watching series or movies.

He had joined Ginoong Subic 2018 and ended up as the 1st runner up and awarded with Best in Swimwear, Best in Summer Wear and Best in Formal Wear (Barong Tagalog). His mother and his brother, who is a commercial model of Blue Water had been so supportive of him and his family inspires him to join pageant. The MoPh franchise holder of Central Luzon had discovered him because of the talent he had shown on his previous pageant

The advocacy of Juan Miguel joining the Man of the Philippines is the promotion of health and fitness since he wants to promote it his fellow youth, this can be done by staying away from drugs and motivate them to practice healthy living because he believes that a healthy person helps create a healthy and productive community.

Subic, Zambales is a great tourist spot in the Philippines, having known because of the many wonderful beaches and places there in Zambales. His best experience in Man of the Philippines is that he had met a lot of friends from different regions and provinces and got to know their different cultures thru talking and having fun with them. Juan Miguel wanted to experience of how it feels like to be in a national pageant especially since he is a first timer or newbie in national pageants.

One good thing about Juan Miguel, you may consider him as a snob with his looks but so nice when you get the chance to approach him and his being nice surely will give leads him to a great future.

Man of the Philippines - Isabela 2018

The smiling face of Jonathan Iniego Del Mundo Jr or Nathan is the first thing that will captivates you upon meeting him. He is representing the Province of Isabela.

Nathan took up BS Hotel and Restaurant Management since for him cooking is his way to show his love to all the people that surrounds him so studying HRM is a one way tool for him to be known as a Chef not only in the Philippines but also in the whole world, and moreover to work in the field of Hospitality Industry.

This lad is into sports like basketball and volleyball since he considers them not just a sport but a form of recreation. He had started joining pageants when he was in 2nd Year college, one of the teachers in his department asked him to be one of the candidates in the Search of Mr. & Ms. Lakan 2016 (ISU-CC) since then it has continued earning accolades in pageantry with his achievements like 2nd Runner Up Lakan 2016 (Isabela State University- Cauayan Campus), Mr. HRM Top Model 2016 (ISU-CC), Mr. College of Business and Administration 2016 (ISU-CC), 2nd Runner Up SCUAA 2017 and Ambassador of Potential Models in Isabela 2018 (Fashion Show).

His mentors/teachers who saw his potential in pageantry had encouraged him to join pageants that when he won the Potential Models of Isabela that had chosen him to be part of the candidates for the Man of the Philippines and represents the Province Isabela. His family are the one who inspires him to join MOPH because they are the one who motivates him to be the best version of himself.

His advocacy is about Creating a culture of Appreciation, Recognition and Responsiveness towards diversified culture of all Filipinos. Isabela is known as the Corn capital of the Philippines and the Rice Granary of the North. Farming is the major source of Livelihood of Isabelenos. They provided agricultural products in many places in PH, however because of modernization it is devastating to hear that nowadays our country is one of the too importers of rice and like products. He wants to recognize the efforts and persistence of the farmers. thru a support system who are grateful to products of their hands. He also wants us all to be the advocates of wise consumption of their golden grains of life. A little action could turn into collaboration to save and preserve the Philippines for the future generation.

Nathan wants to give importance to Scarecrow, being the symbol of his motherland that signifies resilience and solidarity in facing what life throws us. No matter how big those disasters that try to bring our farmers down, they will bravely endure them all and begin with a new cropping full of hope.

Nathan's best experience so far is that, he was given the privilege to join the Man of the Philippines 2018 and met his fellow candidates with varied culture. Furthermore, in the short period of time he had the chance to know their personalities that reflects their respective places.

Nathan's want to be more open minded in accepting different personalities that would made him mature enough in facing every challenges in life. And to develop his confidence in front of the crowd. Nathan would like to thank the people behind Man of the Philippines OPH for giving the candidates the chance to showcase their skills, talents and advocacies; because being part of MOPH 2018 family is a great treasure to keep. And also thanks to those people who believe in his capabilities and supports him all the way. And most of all Thanks be to God because every day he reminds him of this verse, Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens him.

A grateful gentleman with a killer smile is what you can easily remember about Nathan.

Man of the Philippines - Bataan 2018

The well sculptured body and charming face of Lucas Matty, can make someone to admire the representative of Bataan in Man of the Philippines 2018.

He entered the pageant with the advocacy to create awareness about Anti-Drug abuse especially to the children that he is campaigning the Kids Against Drugs program, a primary prevention activity that aims to inculcate the skills of “Saying ‘No’” to children as a firm foundation for preventive education. He aims that this program will be implemented in elementary and secondary schools, entails several components – curriculum and instruction, co-curricular and ancillary services, teacher and staff development, parent education and community outreach, and research, evaluation and monitoring – which is comprehensive in nature and provides a holistic approach to the problem of drug abuse. It was designed to enable all sectors to work collaboratively, with the school system as the core, thereby, unifying all sectoral endeavors.

This hunk from the Province of Bataan had been religiously working out to stay fit and stay healthy, he is into sports like basketball, baseball and volleyball and can dance. he had won several pageants like Mr. Yamaha 2015, Mr. Kahamiz 2015, Philippine Bodies 2017.

He is promoting the pride of Bataan like the Mt. Samat and Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. A mountain hike to Mt. Samat can help visitor to appreciate more of the nature and a visit to Las Casas will be like entrapment into time capsule with a blast from the past thru visiting old houses that reminds of how Filipinos had lived in the past. Indeed, Bataan is all about Nature and Culture like what Lucas is all about in his journey to Man of the Philippines promoting integrity. values and advocacy.

Man of the Philippines - Pangasinan 2018

In the first edition of Man of the Philippines 2018, the Province of Pangasinan is represented by Syed Zoriel de Leon of San Fabian. A 22 years old hunk whois a BS Hospitality and Management student had decided to take up the said course since he believes that it makes him happy when he serve other people. Playing basketball is his past time.

Pageantry is not an easy thing for him but it had helped him boost his confidence and when he knows he is doing great, it motivated him to do well. He had been a finalist in Mr. Northern Philippines and a winner of Mr. Suzuki Raider 2018 in Pangasinan. He is doing his best in joining a pageant since his love for his family motivated him to try pageantry thus he is inspired by their support., especially by his mother whom he described as compassionate and kind. His handler Christopher Flora Meris encouraged him to join the Man of the Philippines 2018 and luckily he was chosen to represent his province from the 3 screening that the organizer had in Northern Philippines.

HIV Awareness is his advocacy in joining the pageant, that he wants to spread awareness and lessen the people suffering because of it. He also wants to promote Pangasinan especially for the beach especially the province is now more accessible thru the presence of TPLEX.
As a candidate of Man of the Philippines 2018, he appreciates the new friends he gained since he had learned a from the other candidates and he wants taht thru the pageant, it will help him to be a role model who inspires other people to be positive about life. As early as of now, he already extends gratitude to everyone who supports him and hopes that they will be there for him until the end.

Man of the Philippines - San Mateo, Isabela 2018

Pageant is one platform to promote a place and in Man Of the Philippines 2018, I was able to know that San Mateo is not only in Rizal but there is one town in Isabela.

Darwis Ismaeli is the Man of the Philippines - San Mateo, Isabela 2018, he is 21 years old and was born by a Filipino mother and an Iranian father, whom he only met when he was 18 years old.

Darwis is currently taking up Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at STI Caloocan City since he got the ambition to work as Flight Steward, at the same time he loves to travel and discover beautiful places, especially of the people and their culture. with his education and looks, he can be a good Ambassador in the field of Tourism especially he got the ambition to be a Pilot someday, he took up Tourism Management and hopes to land a job as a Flight Attendant so he can earn and save for his own education to be a Pilot.

At young age, he was already exposed to various works, typical province life, wherein his family managed a piggery and sold pandesal from their bakery, which had molded him to be financial independent as early as possible that upon he finished the first 2 years of his college life and had his certificate from his ladderrized course, he decided to work as a waiter and as a receptionist in a 4 star hotel to save for his studies and be able to complete the Bachelor degree program he is currently taking up.

Just like the other pageant journey, he stared joining pageants in a campus pageant as a requirement in school programs. His handlers had confidence in him that they convinced him to join local pageants like Mr. Talavera Hyper Mart where he was a runner-up and it paved the way for more opportunities for him and in a way had helped him financially.

According to Darwis, pageantry became a passion for him and had helped him view it as a benchmark to inspire others to achieve their dreams, embrace themselves and an opportunity for him to help his family particularly his mother.

Darwis is engrossed into arts, and into arts appreciation especially with paintings. he also love to travel and cooks for his family.

Darwis considers getting acquainted with fellow candidates as his best experience since he was able to hear their good advocacies, stories that made him widen his horizon and perspective in life. He considers Man of the Philippines 2018 as a pageant that is not just about looks, but more of the purpose, about good cause and celebration of individuality.

His advocacy in joining Man of the Philippines 2018 is connected to him as a Tourism Management Student, he had seen big impact of a clean and healthy environment in the success of a tourism promotion, Thus his advocacy on sustainable tourism will focus on environmental protection and preservation. One of the program he is involved is the solid waste management activities of his community.

In addition to that, Darwis as a guy from the province, he had developed his interest in Agri-Tourism and focused on the advocacy in supporting sustainable Tourism. Darwis acknowledged that the Philippines is blessed with majestic sceneries but the Filipinos should not deviate from the fact that the country is rich with agricultural land and farming is not just a livelihood but indeed one of the source of food for the Filipinos. Just like in San Mateo, Isabela, the place is an agricultural haven and the town is tagged as the "Mongo capital of Isabela", thus it gives opportunity to promote and develop tourism that can provide inclusive economic development and hopefully provide and open more opportunities to his fellow farming families in their place.

Darwis added that every experience is a learning process, good or bad experience , he surely learns from it. Thus he expects that thru Man of the Philippines, he can be able to see life from other perspective. Communicating with fellow candidates and the organizers had opened doors for him to view everything from other's point of view and made him realize and love his individuality, amazed by their stories and inspired him to be at his best and motivated him to be at his best and work to achieve his dreams in life and his dreams for his family.

He is grateful for the support of the people around him especially his family for them inspiration and encouragement they provided for him to face every challenge and opportunity given to him. To his handlers and trainers, for believing in his capability, to the municipal officials of San Mateo, Isabela for the support and sponsorship and to the whole Man of the Philippines organization for the opportunity to be one of the candidates

Looking at Darwis, he got the height and charming personality that captured the people to support him in his journey to clinch the Man of the Philippines 2018 title. One of his best asset is his humility since he is not afraid to asks around for his improvement in pageantry. His looks and his humility can be his weapon to succeed in life.

Man of the Philippines - Angeles City 2018

The representative of Angeles City in Man of the Philippines 2018 is Anthony Abuan, a 20 years old hunk who is a college freshman taking up Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, he wants to be an Engineer someday but while studying he gets himself involved into sports like basketball, parkour, biking and swimming.

He was enlisted as a candidate for Man of the Philippines upon winning the Mr. Soltero 2018, a runway fashion show. His motivation to join pageants is his family who truly believed on what he can do.

His advocacy is to be aware on the harmful effects of cyber bullying by being vigilant on how to treat other people since you will never know what will happen to the person being bullied who might be uncomfortable of the situation and might lead into depression.

Anthony is so honored to represent the "Heart of the Philippines", Angeles City, who got a lot of places to visit, among them is the Nayong Filipino, within the Clark Freeport Zone wherein the life and history of the Old Philippines were depicted thru the houses and miniature spots.

As a candidate of Man of the Philippines 2018, the best experience he ever had is the travelling to the other town knowing their culture and tradition and also the feeling that everyone in his municipality is proud on what he had achieved but still expect to learn the other advocacy of other candidates and how they pursue that and of course he hopes to get the crown of MoPh because he exerts all his effort and time to prove that he deserves to win the MoPh title and be able to represent the country in the international pageant.

Anthony is very grateful to everyone who believes in him and assures them that he will exert all his effort to achieve something in the pageant as well as extends gratitude to the MoPh organizers for the events they have since he learns a lot from it and during the recent MoPh event, Anthony won as the Best in Swimwear during the MoPh Fashion gala held at Chateau Royale last June 30, 2018, which is a good start to his road to achieve his mission in representing Angeles City.
