Lyric Opera of the Philippines (LyrOPERA), the country’s premier non-profit opera company, celebrates its 10th year anniversary via a co-presentation with the newly formed Philippine Heritage Society through the   

The Philippine Heritage Society is a group of individuals in different fields of endeavor who are bonded by their common advocacy to help sustain, preserve and promote Philippine Identity, Art, History and Culture in all their forms. The mission of the Society is to promote our country the Philippines by celebrating our past!

A press conference was held last June 29, 2022 in Las Cazas de Acuzar, Quezon City where the officers answered the questions from the media about the role of the organization in uplifting the heritage of the Philippines amidst the fast changing time, where it was noted that to be able to achieve the recognition and embracing of the young towards our heritage, it is a must to inspire them by walking the walk and talking the about heritage related matters. According to them, social media is a good platform in achieving that, since people emulate and inspired by what they see in social media, thus content about heritage is a need to be visible in those platforms so that more people will be reached out and be able to awaken their love for heritage and culture as a Filipino.

The Philippine Heritage Society was founded by Tess Castro, Nathan de Leon and tenor-businessman Sherwin Sozon.

Incumbent Society members include Armita Rufino, Robert Castañeda, Eugene Guiyab, Ruby Guiyab, Kate Bellosillo, Danda Buhain, Carmen Afzelius, Jessie Maloles, Flora Urquico, Anne Nuguid Morales, Rachel Harrison, Rose Santiago Licup, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Atty. Jovy Beldad, Rose Rañola Jordan, Raymond Villanueva and its 2022-2023 chairperson and incoming Rotary District 3830 District Governor, Mache Torres Ackerman.  

The 2022 distinguished list of awardees include:  National Artist Fides Cuyugan-Asencio, Jaime Laya, Atty. Dominador Buhain, Liza Macuja-Elizalde, Cristina Galang Caedo, Aristocrat, Mama Sita’s and the Grand Dame of Philippine Arts and Culture: Imelda Romualdez Marcos.

Performing during the event are LyrOPERA artists:  Randy Gilongo, Sherine Anne Koa, Eden Dumlao, Bernadette Mamauag, Nina Campos and the Philippine Tenors.

The event will take place at the Fiesta Pavilion of the historic Manila Hotel on July 25, 2022 at 5:00 PM.

The show will be directed by Nathan de Leon, with the fashion segment directed by Raymond Villanueva.

Man of the Philippines 2022: GenSan hosted a national male pageant for the first time

 The new set of winners were crowned at the pageant finale night of  Man of the Philippines held last June 26, 2022 in the KCC Convention Center, General Santos City.

It was the first time for General Santos City to host a national male pageant  and it was a success with the great tandem of Star Realms Entertainment Production and rest of the production team from General Santos City.

The candidates showcased their  fashionista skills wearing the creations of ErJohn Dela Serna in their opening production number and self-introduction, Almoguera Dubai for the fashion segment,  MXXI  by Markki Stroem in their swimwear segment as well as their respective designers for the barong segment.

At the end of the event, Paul Mark Buendia of FilCom Dubai emerged as the grand winner to represent in the Man of the Universe, Ramzy Hesham Villegas of FilCom UAE for Mister Model of the World, Bryan Diaz of Cebu Province for World Fitness Supermodel and Richard Rey Gomez of Biñan City, Laguna for Mister Altitude World.
The rest of the winners are Man of the Philippines Ambassador- Jose Carlos Paras of Pampanga who were appointed to be the representative in Mister Friendship International 2022, Man of Nationalism James Mark Pascual of Cabuyao, Laguna, Man of Advocacy Mark Teodoro of Bulacan and Man of Integrity Ezekiel Elacion

Man of the Philippines 2022 in Gensan

 

Man of the Philippines is a male pageant that promotes advocacy, nationalism and integrity to become a man with a mission.

 

The 3^rd edition of Man of the Philippines is in partnership with LGU GENERAL SANTOS CITY and is produced by Star Realms Entertainment Production, under the leadership of Gilbs Espiritu. The first edition crowned Anthony Flores of Pampanga as the Grand Winner and the second edition had Ian Rowe Giron of Sarangani Province.

 

This year’s pageant will be under the helm of Director Raymund Seranillo, Choreographer Glendil Elizalde, Publicist Airwind Bautista, Candidates Coordinator Frankie Kanamaru and Co-Producer Ronnie Barrientos together with the Gen San Team and promises to stage an amazing event that showcases culture and glitz and glamour of a male pageant.

 

On its 3^rd edition, the pageant will be held in General Santos City. Known as the TUNA CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES, it is also the land where some of the notable personalities are from, such as Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup, Pinoy Big Brother Housemates Gerald Anderson & Melai Cantiveros and the home of PAMBANSANG KAMAO Manny Pacquiao.

The 24 exemplary and dashing candidates of MOPH 22 will arrive at the host city on June 18 and the Coronation Night will commence on June 26, 2022. The CORONATION NIGHT of MAN OF THE PHILIPPINES 2022 will happen on June 26 at the most popular event venue in General Santos City, THE KCC CONVENTION CENTER.  The event will have NEO, (pronounced as nee-yo), a five-member Filipino rising boy group under Celebrity Studio.  Their debut is scheduled this year, 2022, but will open the show for us.

The 24 candidates will be competing for the 4 titles who will then compete in international arena to raise the flag of the Philippines at Man of the Universe, Mister Model of the World, Mister Altitude World and World Fitness Supermodel.

1.     AARON JO REYES, Filipino Community of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
28 years old and 5’8”, an OFW who is working as an accountant and winner of Catwalk pageant in the Middle East

2.     AERONE MENDOZA, Caloocan
25 years old and6’1”, a finalist of The Clash singing competition on tv, actor and a family oriented man.

3.     ALKIE SAPPARI, General Santos City
18 years old and 5’9”, a Track and Field athlete who is taking up Forensic Science in college.

4.     BRYAN DIAZ, Cebu Province, Cebu
24 years old and 6’0”, a former cheerleader who also loves to paint and currently studying Architecture in UST

5.     CARL RON MALOLOS, Quezon Province
27 years old and 5’11”, a financial Consultant and Fitness Coach

6.     DEO PRECILLAS, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu
A print and runway model who is currently taking up Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration

7.     EZEKIEL ELACION, Tuburan Cebu
21 years old 5’9”, a Hotel Management student who does voice acting and an aspiring UFC fighter.

8.     GIO CABANLIT, Antipolo Rizal
29 years old and 6’0”, a former Cebu Pacific flight attendant, model and barista, he currently works as a personal trainer.

9.     JAMES MARK PASCUAL, Cabuyao, Laguna
22 years old and 6’0”, Tiktok star, model and brand ambassador who also makes a good cup of coffee

10.  JANNO REY SEGUIRO, Montalban, Rizal
25 years old and 5’10”, A Computer Science graduate who loves to cruise in his motorcycle if he is not working as an Optical Clinic Assistant.

11.  JCAS SORIANO, Cavite
22 years old and5’11”, a gym instructor and a marketing student who also knows to sing and dance.

12.  JERRYZON RAMOS JASMIN, Pangasinan
26 years old and 5’9”, a Medical Frontliner who loves to hike mountains in his free time.

13.  JOHN GAJUDO, Cebu City

19 years old and 5’9”, a Circuit Racer, commercial, print and runway model. He involves himself in community service.

14.  JOSE CARLOS PARAS, Pampanga

18 years old and 6’1”, a model and basketball player who will take up Marine Transportation in college.

24 years old and 5’10”, an advocate of fitness, health and wellness.

16.  KHAEL DOMINGO, La Union
24 years old and 5’11”, an electrical engineer and entrepreneur. He is an Ultra marathon runner who also enjoys free diving.

19 years old and 6’1”, an Accountancy and Business Management student and a model who dreams of becoming a Psychologist someday.

Jevon Culala for World Fitness Supermodel 2022

 

World Fitness Supermodel 2022 delegate from the Philippines is Jevon Culala, he was the designated candidate under Star Realms Entertainment Production, the producer of Man of the Philippines, he was awarded as MoPh Ambassador 2019 during the second edition of the said pageant.

Jevon will compete in Thailand from June 1-4, 2022, to showcase the masculinity of a Filipino.

Jevon Reely Culala is from Guagua, Pampanga, he stands

183 cm and a 28 years old B.S. in Civil Engineering graduate from Don. Honorio Ventura Technological States University  He currently works as an Engineer in a local government agency in Region III.

According to Jevon,

"When Star Realms told me that I will be one of the representatives of the Philippines to compete in Thailand, I was really overwhelmed and excited at the same time. Way back in 2020, I was not that physically ready due to the crash diet I did in preparation for the 2019 Man of the Philippines competition. Upon confirmation of the WFS competition, I started preparing myself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I started regularly working out to motivate myself everyday. More than the glitz of this competition, I am looking forward to learn a lot from my co-candidates and appreciate the different cultures all over the world.

Fitness is essential not only to models but to every individual.

Aside from the health benefits, it helps improve self-esteem, discipline, mental health, and over-all well-being."

During the FB Live interview with Jay Barbo of Pageant Trend, Jevon had mentioned how fitness helped him to avoid mental health issues since he was pre-occupied training in the gym and exercising that he got no time to be bothered by the effects of challenges brought by the covid pandemic.

He also mentioned that his favorite tourism spot in the Philippines is Coron, Palawan and it was made more special since he spent his vacation with his family appreciating the beautiful beach and sites in the said place, and he seems to be a beach bum with him listing Phuket as his wish list to visit in Thailand.

Wishing all the best for Jevon as he is now representing the country in the World Fitness Supermodel in Thailand.
