Man of La Union 2019 : Jyrico Abubo

Jyrico is 20 years old and stands 5'9”, he was born on October 10,1999 in Oriental Mindoro. He is a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, 2nd year student in NPCMST, City of San Fernando, La Union, he had taken up the said course because he would like to travel the world for free and at the same time to earn a lot of money for his family, working with pleasure indeed.

Jyrico loves jogging in the morning and then playing online games. He had joined Sanggunian ng Kabataan pageant in naguilian., La Union and won 1st runner up and in Mr.Ilocos 2019 where he was the 2nd runner up to that pageant His family especially his mother had encouraged him to join pageants since his mother was also joining pageants.
Jyrico believes that to be able to a great representative of La Union in pageantry, he had to prepare mentally and physically as well as ready to promote La Union as a major tourism destination, that la Union is not just about surfing but also as a hub of agri-tourism.

Karl is 21 years old who stands 5’11” and was born on December 10, 1997 in Manila.

Karl is taking up Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management Major in Hotel Management because he is aware of the many opportunities in that field. He is into drawing/painting and travelling alone.

According to Karl, in the previous years, he don’t want to join any pageants because he is basically shy but he encouraged himself to join pageants to know his life outside of his comfort zone, he wants to discover his best version of himself.

He discovered Man of the Philippines because his handler mentioned it to him and even he doesn’t have intention to join his destiny had taken him to compete and and to show his advocacy.

Karl considers his family, and to the ones that brought him to pursue his dreams and goals more focused and positively, His advocacy in this pageant is to create and make a smile to all the people whose suffering in their lives to have a positive impact towards them, it sounds simple but a lot of meaning and feeling

Karl will be representing Bicol, where the famous perfect cone Mayon volcano and the town of chili, the confident aura of Bicolanos that spreads throughout the world.

He expects to learn more in this pageant like interacting with fellow candidates with different perspectives in life, to understand their beliefs and also to the officials, he expects to learn more from them to use it and to treasure it as the one of the memorable moments in his pageant journey

Karl had this parting words for his supporters, “I just to thank my beloved handler sir Christian Flores for the unlimited support on me, even in the hard times and to my family whose supporting me all of the time thank you so much.”

Alfred Macapagal is 25 years old who stands 5’9” and was born on July 29, 1994 in Pantabangam, Nueva Ecija. He took up Business Administration, since he aims to become a successful businessman.He is into basketball, dancing, singing and acting

Alfred believes that he have good standing on pageantry because this is his passion where he can showcase his skills, just to be one of the candidates of Man of the Philippines makes him feel that he is already a winner because they have seen some qualifications on him which he is proud of. What ever happens in this pageant win or loose, Alfred will continue his journey to achieve a title.

Alfred had been part of Ginoong Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija and won as the 1st runner up, His family had encouraged him to join pageants and they are also his inspiration to join pageants together with his fellow Novo Ecijanos. To protect our environment is his advocacy and you can see the evident reason sinc ehis province of Nueva Ecija is one place you need to value. The province Nueva Ecija is one of the best places in the Philippines. It is considered as the rice granary of the Philippines because of the big production of rice as well as vegetables and fruits like onion, corn, mango and etc. They also have one of the biggest Dam in the Philippines which is Pantabangan Dam that can be found in his home town Pantabangan Nueva Ecija. It really helps the farmers in order to have good and quality products. The province often gives importance to agriculture for productive life.

Alfred believes that the Man of the Philippine sis more challenging since he is representing his whole province. He wants his fellow Novo Ecijanos and his family to be proud of. thus he wants to give his full effort to promote his province in order to pursuade other people to visits Nueva Ecija, but he wants to be competitive in a good way. In the duration of the pageant, he expects to be more confident on his own way even if they have individual differences . He knows that he will learn a lot in terms of giving importance of the environment through conserving it and loving more our mother earth. Lastly, he would expect to improve his social skills by communicating to others and develop good rapport. Alfred would like to express his message to all Novo Ecijanos, friends and family to support him in this journey since it is not his solo fight but it is "their fight".... Supporting him is a simple way to help him in this pageant since it serves as his motivation to reach the goal with a cause.
