A LITTLE PIECE OF HOME, BROUGHT TO THE UNIVERSE.
Beatrice Millan Windorski opens her Miss Universe journey in Puerto Rico wearing Rajo Laurel’s archival “Tuguegarao” from the 2018 Archipelago Mapa series, inspired by the dramatic topography between the Sierra Madre and Cordillera mountain ranges.
More than a couture piece, it carries a story of home—and a reminder of the mountains’ immeasurable value.
As an environmental advocate, Beatrice brings attention to the landscapes and communities of Kasibu and Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, amid growing pressures from critical-minerals mining.
From the Philippines to Puerto Rico, she carries not only the flag, but a message: our mountains, ecosystems, and communities are treasures worth protecting.
And as she looks toward the majestic Sierra de Luquillo of El Yunque National Forest, her journey begins where beauty meets purpose.
A little piece of home, brought to the universe.
