Brian Gocheco for Mr. & Ms. Chinatown 2018
Brian Christopher Manalo Gocheco, a 23 years old 5'11" Chinoy from Binondo, Manila is a candidate for Mr. & Ms. Chinatown 2018. Brian is currently taking up Mechanical Engineering in DLSU Manila and on his 5th year. He had chosen this course because he always needed to know about everything’s inner workings, not to mention that he loves cars.
Brian loves music, whether playing it with a guitar or simply listening to it. He also love gaming, anime and Kpop. He loves dancing too even though he is not a pro at it. As for sports, he occasionally play Basketball and Volleyball and and sometimes football or rugby.
Mr. & Ms. Chinatown 2018 is the first time He ever joined a pageant or anything that required him to be in front of cameras or the public eye. He was always the camera shy boy, but after this stint, he might consider modelling if opportunities arise.. Brian got a lot of support from friends and family and people he meet usually tells him that he could do well in Mr and Ms Chinatown, so he took the opportunity to join. Brian really didn’t know what to expect going into this pageant, but good thing he got friend who is really interested in pageantry who is encouraging him to prepare by watching videos of Question and Answer and polish his communication skills. Aside from that, boosting his social media presence is something vital. It is also essential for him maintaining a healthy lifestyle and taking care of his body is something he always bear in mind.
In the duration of Mr. & Miss Chinatown 2018, the first thing that comes to his mind as learning, is that he had learned the value of responsibility and the consequences of always being late, shoutout to Achi Con (their assistant pageant director) who always reprimands him. Each and every day is an new experience all in itself, meeting the rest of the candidates, the employees at Gibi, all the mentors at Empire Studios and everyone else has taught him that everyone is unique in their own right.
Brian expects to still be of service to the Chinese-Filipino community and remain as a bridge between the two cultures, along with my 27 new friends he had gained through this journey.
Brian wants to extends gratitude to everyone who supported him in the pageant which he truly appreciates since he wouldn't have had the courage to even join a grand event particularly the Search for Mr. & Ms. Chinatown 2018 if not the push and encouragement from them, hoping that he is making them proud of what he is now pursuing in pageantry.
