Man of the Philippines Baguio
City 2018
Clark
Joe T. Ekid is the Man of the
Philippines Baguio City 2018, Clark was born in Tondo, Manila, but raised in
Baguio City and he si so honored of his Igorot heritage especially his father
is a full blooded Igorot, and his mother is half Ilocana and Bicolana. Clark
had taken up Bachelor of Science in Computer Science because of his passion and
skill which is animation, not only that but also as a programmer. Clark is keeps
his body to be fit by regularly going to the gym and playing basketball.
Clark
joined Ginoo at Binibining Lungsod ng
Baguio but unfortunately it is not yet his time to shine but it was a good
experience to be exposed. Second was Mr. Summer and Miss Summer Bodies 2016, and won the 3rd runner up place. Third is Mr.
and Ms. Cordillera 2016, a awarded as Mr. Congeniality. He was encouraged to join pageants by the late
Mister Philippines 2014 Rickson Logaspi, a good friend of him who is a
resilient and wise person who is true to himself and is not afraid to stand up for
something as long as he’s on the right side. He is the one who taught me the
good principles and the art of the pageantry field, he learned such things from
him that no matter what rumors you heard, rumors end at the ears of a wise
person and that if you became friends with 9 fools, chances are you will be the
10th. Just Be still and Be true to yourself. Strong people will never have the
problem going against the flow.
At
first, he was just scanning something that he wants to read on social media
suddenly he saw about the screening of Man of the Philippines in La Union, then
he joined the screening and was chosen to be an official candidate to represent
Baguio City. Clark's inspiration to join Man of the Philippines are his loved
ones and his passion, and his advocacy in joining "Preserving One's
Culture" since the millennial are starting to forget the things that we
inherited from our ancestors, he himself will be the representative of this
millennial to encourage everyone not to forget their own culture by means of
learning and applying it, because if you don't know your culture you will never
know who you are or where you came from.
The
City of Pines is one of the most popular city in the North also known as the
summer capital of the Philippines, it a city of mix culture since a lot of
people go to Baguio not just to tour but also to study and work. They
celebrates, one of the most flamboyant ferstival, the Panagbenga. Clark, as a
candidate of Man of the Philippines, had entitled him to be part of teh league
of national candidate and given the chance to promote Baguio City's Culture and
Tradition, as his best experience. He expects to learn and experience a lot
things from his fellow co-candidate and on the activities that they will have.
Clark would like to extend to all who
supports him of how grateful he is for the support and the trust given to him
that he assures to do his best to be on the top. Win or Lose, he will still be
who he is.
