                Filipinos are indeed a powerhouse in the different pageants with placements, special awards and crowned titles. Just recently, October 6, 2016, another Filipina beauty clinched another title as Miss Diamond of the World 2016 thru the victory of Miss Christine Joy Fabros Picardal, she is a beauty queen from the north since she resides in Aringay, La Union with her father from Bauang, La Union and her mother from Rosario, La Union and Sison, Pangasinan. She had been a top 10 finalist in Mutia ti La Union 2011 as Miss Agoo and 2013 as Miss Rosario, a Bb. Rosario 2012 winner, a Mutya ng Kooperatiba 2013 winner, it was held in Galimuyod, Ilocos Sur, a Miss Baguio 2014 winner and 3rd Runner-up in Limgas ng Pangasinan 2016. Her pageant journey was not a smooth road with a number of failures but she used it as an inspiration to be strong and considered every failures and triumphs as a brick to the wall she is building as a foundation for a great future.
                Miss Diamond of the World is a new pageant, only on its second year, it aims to search for the tourism ambassadress of Algeria to the world, it also aims to promote citizenship in the said country and lastly to advocate for kids with Down Syndrome to experience a regular schooling and avoid discrimination. The pageant derived its name from the Diamond which were abundant in the country until mining was stopped but still, Algeria is a diamond worth to be treasured and be discovered for its culture and arts.
                Miss Christine Joy Fabros Picardal is not alone in her pageant journey in Algeria since pageant mentors from Pangasinan had been supporting her, led by Milton Salinas and other good hearted  personalities in their team like Rian Fernandez, Ramie Seron, Punch Morgan and Eff Alagadan Jr.. She actually used a Filipiniana Terno created by Sir Milton Salinas and for her pictorial after her victory, she used a gown by Rian Fernandez.
                Last October 2016, she arrived in the Philippines with a Welcome Party, Homecoming and Presscon organized by Sir Milton and his team in Mindworks, it was held in Lenox Hotel, Dagupan City where she had shared her triumph and journey as Miss Diamond of the World 2016 to the press who were coordinated to be in the event thru the assistance of the Philippine Information Agency, ma’am Venus May Sarmiento, ma’am Miriam Aquino and ma’am Jenny Role.
                She did not rest on her laurels as she took part in the opening activities and ribbon cutting for Obra ti Ima: Arts Roadshow for a Cause, a partnership of ATIN CSFLU (Association of Tourism Industires and Networks in the City of San Fernando, La Union) , AGLAUN (Artist Guild of La Union)  and the City Government  of San Fernando, together with Halo-Halo De Iloko, Oasis Country Resort, Thunderbird Resort and Le Monet Hotel, is an arts exhibit wherein the proceeds of the sale of the paintings and sculptures will be for the benefit of the deaf and mute community of the city that would enable them to finance their handicrafts making which is a source of livelihood for them to feel independent last October 28, 2016 in Halo-Halo De Iloko, City of San Fernando, La Union thru the invitation of  Mr. Xavier Mercado, owner of the famous restaurant and ATIN CSFLU Chairman  and Airwind, Erwin G.  Bautista, the Director of Publicity, Events and Membership of ATIN CSFLU.
                She graced the kick-off of the award winning tourism event of La Union, 11th La Union Surfing Break held in Kahuna Resorts, Urbiztondo, La Union last October 28, 2016.
                Last November 5, 2016, she delivered an inspirational talk in Baratao Elementary School, Acao, Bauang, La Union, among the pupils and their parents, as she also shared school supplies to them as she took part in the outreach mission of the students and teachers of Don Eulogio de Guzman Memorial National High School of the said town. Reaching the venue was not easy since the group had to walk a long mile but she gamely climbed the hill where the school was located as well as she gamely joined the students too in riding the top of the jeepney and earned admirations among the students of how humble and amiable she is.
                She also graced the television, radio and social media with her guestings and interviews that featured her victory and pageant journey.

                She will be back in Algeria to continue her reign, with a tourism television project,  as well as have her world tour in Senegal as a tourism ambassadress of Algeria as part of her duties as Miss Diamond of the World 2016.
