Mar, 30 years old and stands 5'10” was born on Marc 15, 1989, in Manila. He graduated last 2019 in Dr. Carlos S. Lanting college with the degree in Bachelor of Nursing, he took up the said course because way back 2009, Nursing is very in demand working abroad, his goal since in highschool was to help his family. He is a Property Administrator of one of the property of E. Ganzon Inc, he worked there for over 10 years, this company molded him as a professional since it provided him the challenges and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Mar really like beach activity like cliff diving, surfing, and diving. Recently he went to Oslob, Cebu to dive together with whale sharks. Also diving gives him peace of mind and good cardio workout.
He is representing the Municipality of Silang, it is believed to be one of the oldest town in Cavite with 64 barangays and a population of 248,058 people. It was named Silang because its the last town on easternmost part of Cavite and silangan is the Filipino word for east. Although, legend say that the town was named silang because of a rumor that a saint was given birth in silang and birth in our language is SILANG.
Silang cavite is headed by Hon. Socorro Rosario F. Poblete, a town of great potential from its vast land area suitable to agriculture, real-estate to high end leisure development Nd private farming enclaves.
Mar joined Man of the Philippines because of his intent to promote his advocacy, he is an advocate of Health and wellness lifestyle right now my mom is a stage 2 breast cancer patient undergoing treatment . As people discovered cancer runs through our blood and this is the main reason for his advocacy. He wants to prevent this disease, and to do so, we should change our unhealty lifestyle and malpractices. he started doing this by eating healthy, joining heath and wellness group (year 2017) and regularly attending gym session.
Man of the Philippines is a strong organization that deals with Integrity, advocacy and nationalism this is a huge reason to be part of this organization, to share his advocacy to wider audience with help of Man of the Philippines.
This is his first pageant ever, Pageant for his is usually defined as a mixture of looks confidence, empowerment and advocacy. Although, he finds himself confident with who he is. Sound so cliche, he never though about participating yet alone attending pageant but he don’t want to feel mortified and regret to any of his decision.

Jake , 26 years old and stands 5’9” was born on November 10, 1992 and was born at Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte and was raised by his parents who teach him that family is one of the most important things in this weary world. Love, respect, unity and peace among would lead u into happy family, and when he say family it is not only your relatives but also the people around. Jake belongs to a family of 7, he is living with his father, a farmer and mother, a housewife.He is the youngest. Jake had graduated of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Management and last May of this year, he graduated with the course of Hotel and Restaurant Services in the same school, Data Center College of the Philippines,  Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
He is not an athletic person but do excel in Academics. He is inclined to expressing himself  thru joining quizzes and exploring the world thru traveling. he owns a motorcycle that he rides when he travels during his free time.
At the age of 10, he already joined pageant in their barangay and winning made him realized that pageants will make you gain experienced and something to help you boost your confidence. Then, he was crowned Mr. SK Nueva Era 2009 1RU and Mr. Ilocos Norte Cultural Community 2009 1RU which then made pageants as one of his sideline and source of finances for his education. He continued joining pageants and was crowned Mr. Image Model 2017 of the HRM department and Mr. Data Center College of the Philippines Palaro 2017 2 RU and even won the Mr. Data Center College of the Philippines 2018, and last May, he joined also the first ever Mister Ilocos 2019 and landed as 1RU.
He was encouraged by the people who sees his potentials in pageantry thus when he had seen the MoPh post in social media, he then took interest and applied as one of the candidates. He is am very much inspired with the people who have low self-esteem and people who are being bullied before and today because of their look, he wants to use this pageant as a platform and be their voice that they must be considered and give importance because they exist with a purpose and be in the pageant world as well. They must believe in themselves that they can do the same. As a member of the Indigenous People community, Jake always wanted to preserve, promote and continue the values, beliefs, traditions and cultures influenced by our ancestral homelands. With this platform, he will communicate to inform, educate and catalyze action on issues on the importance of our rights. That every millenial especially the youth in our community will educated and assert their rights about our socio cultural, histocal and political realities. He will prove that Indigenous People are more than what they see and what they know. His town of Nueva Era is part of the Indigenous group which is very rich in culture. In this place, he was able to mold my self better and show that we as part of the group are not different from the other group. They have their own beliefs which needs to be respected as well as we respect others. His province, Ilocos Norte as whole,  taught him that there must always be unity among others. We should work hand-in-hand for brighter future.

The message of Jake to his supporters: “I would like to say thank you to those people behind this endeavor. I will not be d best that I can without their courage and trust. For their unending support all through out and of course their prayers that made me feel better and comfortable in every step of the way.”

Media Tour in La Union with the Department of Agrarian Reform

The Association of Tourism Industries and Networks in La Union represented by Airwind Bautista, ATIN-Lu Tourism Director for Events & Publicity joined the Department of Agrarian Reform’s Media Tour on Farm Sites.

The Department of Agrarian Reform personnels guided the media at the
Halog West, Tubao, La Union, the site of the office of Halog West Producers Cooperative wherein Nena Panes shared the trials and triumphs of the said cooperative who produced the famous cornick of Tubao.
Going to the said place is quite an adventure for guests but a daily struggle to the people of the place since they need to cross the river thru a bamboo racket. Thru the assistance of DAR, the members of the cooperative were able to survive the trials of the production and marketing of the cornick industry of Brgy. Halog West.
It was also mentioned that farmers of tobacco turned into planting corns since they can harvest three times a year which means more profit.
It can be noted that sampling the cornick, it is less salty and you can crunch more cornicks instead of garlic, salt and vetsin, making it to taste better and healthier to eat.

Rosalina Vere, Manager and Jovelyn Carrera, Treasurer wherein they shared how their cooperative had conceptualized to make salted egg as an income generating project, but due to low supply of eggs, selling pork is an additional project and since they recently had been trained, they will be making TOGI chips as well as continue to construct Bio Mass as the cooperative had been tasked by clients in need.
Indeed it was a great help that DAR provided assistance to the cooperative since they were able to make a good start in their income generating projects which will be a source of livelihood to the members.

Sta. Cecilia Producers Cooperative, Sta. Cecilia, Aringay, La Union

The project assistance of DAR to the Sta. Cecilia Producers Cooperative includes the truactor utilized for the block farming, cattle raising of 9 cows for 9 farmers and the Solar Power Irrigation System.

The media talked to Robinson Dulay, Chairman of the cooperative, who shared about the benefits of the projects especially the solar power irrigation system that helps them to save on diesel, he also mention the needs for improvement like a bigger motor and more solar panel for a stronger flow of water.

The block farming also benefits the farmers since it aides them to have a common farming practice and unified marketing that will lessen the burden of the farmers.

The cattle raising is a potential income generating too since the cow are in good shape because of the abundant grass as their food. Indeed partnership of the public offices and the farmers gives a lot of potential and benefits for economic growth.

Edbert stands 6 feet tall and 20 years old who was born on June 19, 1998 in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.
He is taking up a Nautical course based on the choice of his family. He is into playing basketball, badminton, swimming, fond of singing and likes adventure. He had joined pageants to gain experience , gain confidence and share brotherhood. he had been a part of Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu 2018 where he was the 2nd runner up upon the encouragement of his loved ones. His friends then informed him about Man of the Philippines 2019 and he passed the screening held in Cebu. He pursued joining pageants as he is inspired by his faith in God and his loved ones. His advocacy is preserving mother nature especially his hometown of Cebu is quite a beautiful place. It is known about the people it self, the tourist spots ,food. Cebuanos are known because of their characteristics and the beautiful beaches from North to south part and the unique foods.
Edbert considered being chosen as Man of Cebu thru the screening as the best experience so far as one of the candidate of Man of the Philippines. He expects to learn about new things like how to connect to different kind of people and to build a better version of himself.
Edbert’s message to his supporters: “Thank you so much specially to God for giving me this chance to showcase myself in the national pageant, Man of the Philippines and to the Cebu organisation thank you so much for the opportunity and for choosing me and to my love ones and to the all the people who supported me thank you so much I'll do my best for this pageant.”
