The Darling of the Press were awarded to Miss Philippines, Eileen Gonzales as the main winner together with Miss USA, Pamela Lee, 1st Runner-up and Miss Uzbekistan, Tamila Khodjaeva as 2nd Runner-up. Tamila Sparrow is her screen name as a celebrity in their country
The Philippines hosts Miss Global
Beauties from around the world have made their way to the Philippines for yet another competition that showcases glamour and wit. Miss Global mounts its 6th edition in the Philippines, with close to 50 candidates vying to become the next global ambassador of beauty, cultural diversity and women empowerment. This will be the third time that the Philippines plays host to the international beautu tilt. Miss Global was previously held in the country in 215 and 2016. “We are very honored and proud to welcome Miss Global to the Philippines once again.” says Pauline Sofia Laping, National Pageant Director of Miss Global Philippines and head of the local organizing committee. “We know how much Filipino love beauty pageants, and with Miss Global coming to the country once again, we do not only extend our support for the competition, but we are also able to showcase what the country has to offer.” During the candidates’ two-weeks stay, they are scheduled to visit Boracay Island and experience the fun that only the world class island destination can bring. This year’s Miss Global will also see how the pageant has become fashion forward. Three international designers will be dressing up the candidates during the final night. “It’s indeed a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with these designers. Through this partnership, we will be able to feature their exquisite design and show how fashionable Miss Global candidates are.”, states Ms. Laping. The grand coronation night is slated on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Newport Performing Arts Theatre, Resorts World Manila. It will also have a delayed telecast ib GMA 7. Barbara Vitorelli from Brazil, the reigning Miss Global will crown her successor who will carry on the ideals and mission of the pageant.
