Man of the Philippines Batangas 2018

Man of the Philippines Batangas 2018

Jhon Patrick Driz, a 23 years old lad from Batangas City is the Man of the Philippines Batangas 2018.  Jhon is a Bank Assurance sales officer at BPI,  who caters the Overseas Filipino workers and he had chosen that job since he is treated with respect, given daily encouragement, being paid well and  Care Source, actually works towards their vision. They work as a team to help the underserved, and in return it makes him  feel good about himself and what he do for others. John Patrick describes it as "My JOB IS NOT JUST ABOUT SELLING BPI-PHILAM PRODUCT, ITS HELPING OUR CO-KABABAYAN."
JhonPatrick loves cooking, doing some experiments in any dishes. He do love some collecting some items that he remembers when he was a kid collecting some bayblade and tamiya. And now he loves to travel going to different places here in the Philippines and thankfully his job leads him to his hobbies.
Jhon recalled that when he was a child they always push him  to join some pageants in school and in barangay but he was a bit shy back then, he remembers when he started to join wayback 2014, his first screening and first pageant MR. BAY and ended up receiving the People's Choice Award, Mr. Silka and 4th placer, then after that many doors opened and lead some opportunities. After his 1st pageant, he started to join school pageant, Mr. Tourism 2015 and Mr. Batangas State Universit. and lastly Mr. South Luzon.  It was the last pageant, he joined before his operation.
Jhon mentioned that he joined pageants thru encouragement from others, his family is not a fan of pageantry. he could say that his ex- girl friend is behind of all this, why he standard joining pageant, since she’s really gorgeous and intelligent, she was proclaimed as Bb. Lunsod ng Batangas. He  remember,  she said "baby gwapo ka naman bat ka ba nahihiya mag pageant? Matalino ka may height bat ka nahihiya? And he laughed at her. She was his number one supporter, she always pushes him in any pageant he joined. He can say that they seem t to be perfect couple but just like some relationship it didn't last. But for a good reason, they remained good friends.

He was invited to be one of the judges in a school and there he met Direk Ariu, franchise holder of Man of the Philippines Batangas . And now that he is part of the pageant, he is inspired by his family, he wants them to be proud of him, he wants them to see him that he do the things he love and be successful with it, then he is inspired  for himself, since he wants to build his self confidence and to learn more. Lastly, it gives him inspiration and motivation when he sees young street children begging for people just to have some food. He would like to show them and be an inspiration to them that we are all imperfect and as he joins the pageant, despite of all of his imperfections, he was able to stand, fight for what he wants and live his life. Jhon would like them to be inspired that they can apply that to their lives as well, they can stand, and be an inspiration to others as well.
Promoting the welfare of the children is his advocacy. for he always have a heart for the children. seeing them smiling and happy through his simple ways-from him being such an inspiration up to sharing good deeds always bring him a joyful heart giving hope for a better future ahead of them and daring/encouraging other people to care for them is definitely worth it.

As we all know, Batangas city is known as the “Industrial Port City of CALABARZON” and classified as one of the most competitive cities in the country today. And in his introduction LAND OF THE BARAKO. Why? not just people are barakos but even the coffee,  kapeng barako. The people in Batangas seems to always shouting not because they are mad but it's the tone of their voice, "ALA EH". something so unique among the people of Batangas.
As for Jhon, he thinks about an experience that helped him to step out of his comfort zone and grow into a more confident individual. Anyone who knows him knows that he is not exactly the most outgoing person around. He likes to keep to himself, and he don’t usually do things that are outside the comfort zone, he build friendship and brotherhood in MoPh, he can say that they are family.

First of his personal expectations is  opportunities since MoPh gives the candidates a window of opportunities, this world ties in with the entertainment world! So, it opens doors to modeling, acting, performing, and much more. And learning,  there are so many things you learn not only about yourself, but also about communication skills, leadership, interviews, and poise. And lastly is for his advocacy to the children, he want to help.
John Patrick would  like to thank everyone for keeping on supporting him and he promised, that as their Man of the Philippines Batangas 2018, despite of what will happen, he will continue to inspire, to share and to keep his advocacies.
